These modules will provide a brief background on the Internet infrastructure, standards, protocols, and systems as a necessary basis to understand Internet governance. The various technical elements are intertwined with policy considerations. They are managed by — and between — the various stakeholders within the Internet ecosystem. These modules will also cover the main Internet infrastructure and principles on which the Internet operates. It will explain the main foundations of Internet law and challenges in implementation and enforcement. It will also examine the important role regulation on a national level plays in ensuring competitive, open, and accessible Internet environment.
