In this module you will learn about the first critical property: Accessible Infrastructure with a Common Protocol. You will learn that no one governs the Internet and no one needs to ask permission to access it. Also, that the Internet is a network of networks and every node of each network is based on the same Internet Protocol (IP)..
This module also looks at the second critical property: Open Architecture of Interoperable and Reusable Building Blocks. The Internet provides a simple open architecture, assembled in a layered fashion and each building block delivers a specific function so that anyone can add innovation at any point. This allows fast and “permissionless” development of the Internet.
